Grease lubricated or oil lubricated
Rolling bearings are widely used in industrial production and are the basic accessories of mechanical equipment. The function of rolling bearing is to convert the sliding friction between shaft and shaft seat into rolling friction. During the operation of rolling bearing, rolling friction will cause bearing temperature rise and wear. In order to reduce friction and damage, rolling bearing needs to be lubricated during operation.
What lubrication methods can be used for rolling bearings
Grease lubrication of rolling bearings
The rolling bearing adopts grease as the lubricating medium, which has the advantages of small fluidity, less leakage, good oil film strength and more conducive to the sealing use of rolling bearing. At the same time, the grease lubrication of rolling bearings can also prolong the lubrication maintenance time and make the bearing maintenance easier.
There are also disadvantages of lubricating the rolling bearing with grease. Compared with the lubricating oil, the friction torque of the grease is larger, and the applicability of the grease to the rolling bearing requiring high-speed operation is lower. In addition, the cooling performance of grease lubrication is poor. If too much grease is added to the rolling bearing, the rolling bearing will overheat due to mixing the lubricant.
Oil lubrication of rolling bearings
Rolling bearings are lubricated by oil lubrication, which can achieve good cooling and cooling effect. It is especially suitable for rolling bearings with high working temperature. The viscosity of the lubricating oil used in the rolling bearing is about 0.12 to 0.2cm/s. If the load of the rolling bearing is high and the working temperature is high, the lubricating oil with high viscosity shall be selected, and the rolling bearing with fast speed is suitable for the lubricating oil with low viscosity.
The disadvantage of oil lubrication for rolling bearing is that oil lubrication requires that the bearing must maintain a good sealing state to avoid lubricating oil leakage. In addition, oil lubrication needs to be equipped with a more complex oil supply device, which is not as convenient as grease in operation and use, increasing the maintenance workload of rolling bearings.
